Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol
In 1906, the representatives of the five existing football teams in Paraguay at that time (Olimpia, Guaraní, Libertad, General Díaz, and Nacional) got together to create the governing body of football in Paraguay: the Liga Paraguaya de Fútbol.
In 1998 it changed its name to Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol (APF), which stands for Paraguayan football association. The APF is the governing body of football in Paraguay. It organises the Paraguayan football league and the Paraguay national football team. It is based in Asunción.
