Birmingham boss encouraged by Rafael performance Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce was encouraged by the performance of summer signing Rafael Schmitz in their defeat against Manchester City.
Bruce said: "I saw him play for Lille against Manchester United and he was rock solid. He showed what a really good central defender he is."
