The nightmare continued for Spurs in their home match versus Everton. After a shaky start on Saturday vs Sunderland, Spurs continued to Stutter as they are lost at home by three goals to one. Ghaly still not in Jol's plans despite the poor form of his side.

While Mido had a medical with Boro yesterday and everything is set for completing his transfer deal withing the next few hours, his compatriot Hossam Ghaly remains as a Spur for the time being.

Despite this, Ghaly never made the bench in the opening match versus Sunderland and he wasn't selected for last night's encounter with Everton too. It seems either Ghaly is out of Jol plans or he is not fully fit to start games.

Martin Jol admitted that Ghaly did very well last season and exceeded the expectations as he assisted more than any other midfielder. But the Dutch coach is yet to make use of the Egyptian.

Yesterday, Tottenham played at home and fans were full of hope to win their first three premiership points this season. However, Jol's questionable team selection and tactics had negative effects on the team and they lost heavily by three goals to one.

Jol's tactics included starting with Robbie Keane behind the two forwards Berbatov and Darren Bent. The Irish international couldn't play the role of the support man well and the midfield lacked all forms of creativity.

On the other hand, Spurs defense looked quite shaky especially with absence of Ledley King and Michael Dawson.

It took Everton just a couple of minutes to take the lead through a well placed header by Lescott. However, Tottenham equalized through a carbon copy goal which was scored by the central defender Gardner.

Tottenham continued their pressing after the goal but Everton remained dangerous through their counter attacks which were led by Michael Arteta.

The latter crossed the ball into the box and it was headed behind by the sub Rocha (who came on to replace the injured Kaboul), the ball fell to Osman who controlled the ball on his chest and sent it home with his left to make the score 1-2 in the 37th minute.

In the 45th minute, the match turned to a real nightmare for Tottenham as Stubbs struck a freekick from way out totake a wicked deflection off the foot of Zokora and end its path into the back of the net to make the score 1-3 for the guests.

The second half didn't include any goals but there were some real chances for both sides. From Spurs side, Berbatov hit the bar with a powerful header while the substitute Defoe almost scored from a volley shot but the goalkeeper saved his attempt.

On the other hand, Robinson made a couple of good saves for chances from Everton and the game ended in a 1-3 home loss for the Spurs.

It is expected that Jol will make changes in his tactics in the cmoning matches and this might include the return of Ghaly as a right midfielder. However, nothing is certain yet and the Egyptian's best option at the time being is to leave White Heart Lane.
