Lee asks for patience Bolton Wanderers manager Sammy Lee says it will take time for his new-look squad to gel.
The Trotters got their Barclays Premier League season off to a bad start with a 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday. Lee has signed 12 new players, including most recently Andy O'Brien from Portsmouth, and believes it will take time for them to adapt.
"We have made a lot of changes and most of the players have had five to six weeks to work together," he said. "But it may take time to get things the way I want and I hope people are patient. That is not to excuse the performance against Newcastle as we just did not turn up in the first half."
have to cope
Bolton travel to Fulham on Wednesday looking to put the Newcastle defeat behind them. Lee added: "I am now aiming for a response at Fulham. They will be looking to get at us as it is their first home game but we have to cope with that."
Lee replaced former manager Sam Allardyce at the end of last season and is still looking for his first league win, having lost two matches and drawn one.
