Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce:
"We had a complete new defence for the start of the season.
"My hope was that we kept all those players fit all the time to gel them together.
"Unfortunately, the biggest injuries we have had are in those areas and that is, for me, why we have conceded so many goals that we could have avoided."
