Ahli allowed 19-year-old Ahmed Mamdouh to go on trial with MLS side LA Galaxy, the Cairo club announced on Wednesday.

The Reds received a trial offer for the highly rated winger from David Beckham's Galaxy, and the request was accepted by Ahli board.

Despite not playing a single game for Manuel Jose's team, Mamdouh earned the praise of the Portuguese tactician during his training with the first team in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Ahli also allowed youth team full-back Sayed Farid to join Egypt Telecom on loan, starting from January until the end of the season.

However, loan offers for youth duo Mostafa Talaat and Mohamed Al-Shennawi from second division Al-Gona have been turned down.

Jose: angry at critics

Ahli coach Manuel Jose launched a scathing attack on his critics in the wake of his side's 3-0 victory over Aluminum in the Egyptian League on Thursday.

Some journalists accused the Portuguese tactician of signing more than 22 players who failed to establish themselves over the past three years.

The accusations prompted an angry reaction from the temperamental coach, who barely commented on Ahli's win over Aluminum.

"I don't know from where these accusations came from, I didn't recruit this number of failures," Jose told the post-match press conference.

Jose was also criticized for his inability to develop young talents as well as his unsuccessful attempts to promote youngsters to the first team.

Zamalek Attack

In his response, the former Sporting Lisbon coach pointed to arch-rivals Zamalek, whom he believes were a complete failure in this matter.

"Shikabala is the only player who came through Zamalek youth ranks and proved to be a success."

"They couldn't win any trophy while I led Ahli to a host of trophies and you call me unsuccessful.

"I also gave the chance to several youngsters to feature on the senior level," he added.

Jose also said he believes journalists shouldn't interfere in technical matters.

The 61-year-old coach is known for his controversial remarks against journalists and the latest row unlikely to do him any favors.

LYON, France (AFP) - Former Lyon, France and Tottenham manager Jacques Santini revealed Friday that he is in talks with Dubai side Al Ahly about taking over as manager.

The 55-year-old Frenchman has been out of work since leaving Auxerre after just one season in 2006.

Previously he coached Lyon to two French league titles, before moving on to coach the national side at Euro 2004 and then Spurs, albeit for only a matter of months in the 2004/05 season.

Will Jose leave Ahli?

Saudi champions Ittihad Jeddah are after the signature of Ahli's Portuguese manager Manuel Jose, Saudi reports claimed on Monday.

Al-Riyadh newspaper claimed that Ittihad's new chairman Gamal Abou-Emara is currently in Cairo negotiating a possible move for Jose.

The Ahli coach's contract runs out by the end of the season, and he is yet to reach an agreement with the Reds' board over a new deal.

On the other hand, Ittihad are believed to be in search of a new coach to replace under-fire Vahid Halilodzich after the Bosnian's poor results with the team this season.

Reports in Saudi Arabia also suggested that the Jeddah-based club issued an ultimatum to Halilodzich ahead of Tuesday's league game against Al-Shabab.

Ahli have announced that Baladeya striker Hani Al-Egeizi signed a four-year contract with the club worth EGP 2,5 million.

The Red Devils marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com that the player inked the contract but the date of his move is yet to be determined.

Baladeya chairman Mahmoud Al-Shami wants to keep the player until the end of the season but the Ahli bosses want to get him in January to boost their squad.

"We'll have to wait and see. If Baladeya finish the first round in a good position it will be easier for us to get him in January," Al-Qaeyi said.

The 21-year old striker made a huge impact with Baladeya since the beginning of the season after being released, for free, by Zamalek.

The Whites tried to get him back but Al-Egeizi set his sights on moving to Ahli.

Tersana have accepted Ahli's bid to sign midfielder Mahmoud Samir when the January transfer window opens, Hammers' coach Farouk Gaafar said.

"I gave the board the all-clear to let Samir depart," Gaafar told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

"Samir is a good player but we have a replacement for him. We will not stand in his way; he is desperate to join Ahli."

Gaafar revealed that the financial aspects of the deal will be sorted out between both clubs in the coming few days.

Ahli coach Manuel Jose has been tracking skilful playmaker Samir to have a back-up for star Mohamed Abou-Treika.

The Red Devils have recently signed Baladeya striker Hani Al-Egeizi. They will also have Ahmed Fathi at their disposal after he finishes his loan spell with Kuwait's Al-Kazma.
