Home game, excellent, I'm hoping Isaksson will be put in goal and Manchester will keep their home record.

3-0

Shit Sven better come to his senses and let Isaksson keep, we need this to be positive for Sunday's Liverpoo match.

Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson is a major doubt after suffering an abdominal complaint.

Emile Mpenza has a minor muscle strain but is expected to be fit to play, while Stephen Ireland is available after a three-match ban.

Blackburn trio Robbie Savage, Stephen Warnock and Keith Treacy are all suspended for the trip to City.

But central defender Christopher Samba is available for selection after serving a one-match ban.

Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson on a tough festive period:
"Many of them will not be used to the demands and I have told them to have Christmas Day to themselves.

"When you have five games in 15 days, you need to make sure that one of those other days is a rest day.
"We have got very big games coming up against Blackburn and Liverpool and it is important to be ready for those."

Blackburn manager Mark Hughes:
"Things have not gone as well over the past few games.

"We know what needs to be done and we are trying all we can to get our season back on track.

"We were all delighted with the way the campaign had started. We need a victory or two to settle us down, but then no-one has a divine right to win."

BIG-MATCH FACTS

Blackburn are hoping to become the first of 10 clubs to visit Eastlands and come away with at least a point, but they travel the 29 miles on a run of three straight defeats, and four in all competitions.

Despite holding a 100 Premier League record this season at Eastlands, City are the lowest ranked of four clubs still unbeaten at home.

Blackburn are chasing a sixth successive victory over Manchester City in league and FA Cup.

MANCHESTER CITY

ELANO and Rolando BIANCHI are Manchester City's joint leading scorers with five goals each.

ELANO, BIANCHI and Michael PETROV are the club's joint top Premier League marksmen with four goals a piece.

GEOVANNI has scored the quickest goal of this Premier League season. He netted after 28 seconds of Steve Bruce's first game in charge of Wigan at the JJB Stadium on 1 December.

Darius VASSELL needs a hat-trick to total 50 career Premier League goals (Aston Villa and Manchester City).

BLACKBURN ROVERS

Roque SANTA CRUZ is Blackburn's top scorer with 11 goals, and the club's leading Premier League marksman with seven.

Brad FRIEDEL has made 165 successive appearances for Blackburn, 132 of them in the Premier League; the league sequence started at the beginning of the 2004-05 season.

Only FRIEDEL has played every minute of every one of Blackburn's league and cup matches this season.

David DUNN is a hat-trick shy of 100 club career goals.

HEAD TO HEAD

Benni McCarthy's first league goal of the season gave Blackburn victory in the reverse fixture, and set Rovers up for the possibility of a third double over City in the Premier League, and second in successive seasons.

The Citizens' only home maximum in the Premier League against Rovers was the first clash on 30 January 1993 by the odd goal in five, when goals from Mike Sheron, Keith Curle (penalty) and David White goals decided the issue.

Five of the last six identical fixtures have been drawn.

Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson gave his players Christmas Day off in an effort to rest his stars ahead of the busy Christmas schedule. Vedran Corluka should return to replace Nedum Onuoha at right-back, while Michael Johnson faces a fitness test on his abdominal strain. Blackburn will be without Stephen Warnock and Robbie Savage, both suspended after picking up five bookings, although Christopher Samba returns from his one-match ban.
