Gary Megson claimed his first win in charge of Bolton with the unlikely scalp of Manchester United, thanks to Nicolas Anelka's early strike.

"It's Bolton's second victory not my first. They worked hard for the football club and themselves.

"It was a terrific performance in terms of work-rate, desire and drive.

"It's really good result for us, given the other results around the division. We have an awful lot going for us and I have no qualms in saying we will get out of this position."

"These are games we look forward to, great games, big crowds all the players are desperate to do well.

"Going to Liverpool has always been a tough task and that's not changed and the form they are in is exceptional.

"It's one of the best grounds that anybody can play at. Liverpool have a great team and everything going for them but you go in a positive frame of mind, looking to win."

"If we continue to do that, then hopefully we can achieve our target of making the top ten.

"We have a nice problem when it comes to selection after the result in Belgrade on a paddy field."
