It took over an hour before Flavio, who scored Angola's only goal at the 2006 finals in Germany, to open the scoring before Job added the second in the 80th minute. Portugal-based midfielder Mendonca made sure of the points with a third goal for Angola five minutes from time.

In the group's other weekend game, Uganda were 1-0 winners over Niger in Kampala on Saturday.
