Can't wait for him to play with Chelsea again! Everyone says TErry Terry Terry when he was out last season. Now with Terry they're still conceding goals. No one says where's Carvalho. Carvalho has just had bad luck with injuries. He missed 2 games aganist Man U already, The Cup at Wembley and now the last one in Old Trafford.
Ben-Haim needs some controlling and Terry needs to start playing better, and get he commanding presence he used-to have.

The Portugal team need Carvalho too because the back 4 is looking confused especially in the Serbia game.

Quote:
Carvalho Will Stay With Chelsea
Ricardo Carvalho is not planning to leave Chelsea when the January transfer window opens.

n the immediate aftermath of Jose Mourinho's sudden parting of the ways with Chelsea last month, several of the senior players most closely associated with the Portuguese tactician were said to be considering in their futures at Stamford Bridge.

But it seems enlightened self-interest has taken precedence over emotional knee-jerk reaction and misplaced loyalty.

For after skipper John Terry's insistence that he will be staying at Chelsea, and Didier Drogba's reaffirmation of commitment to the Blues' cause, Portugal international defender Ricardo Carvalho has also put the doubts to bed.

Carvalho's future had been the subject of speculation following Mourinho's exit, not least because Mourinho had brought him to the Bridge.

But Carvalho will be staying at Chelsea, and is predicting that the squad can go on to win more trophies - despite an indifferent start to the season that has left them in seventh place in the Premier League, well off leaders' Arsenal pace and with only eight goals scored in nine matches played.

"At this moment I'm not thinking about leaving Chelsea, but how to improve as a player," Carvalho said.

"The Chelsea players are prepared for everything and I'm convinced that we can have a successful season this year.

"I have not changed, I am always the same. Mourinho's exit is in the past and now it's important to live in the present."

Carvalho happy at Chelsea

Ricardo Carvalho has quashed speculation that he could leave Chelsea come the January transfer window.

The Portugal international defender's future has been uncertain following the exit of manager Jose Mourinho, who was instrumental in clinching his signature.

"At this moment I'm not thinking about leaving Chelsea, but how to improve as a player," explained Carvalho.

"The Chelsea players are prepared for everything and I'm convinced that we can have a successful season this year.

"I have not changed, I am always the same. Mourinho's exit is in the past and now it's important to live in the present."

finally someone posts on Carvalho
I think he might leave he just needs to say that right now to keep the fans calm. So proud how he played for Portugal! Even after not playing for months.

Carvalho misses Euro 2008 qualifiers

Written by: AFP

Portugal´s veteran defender Ricardo Carvalho, seen here in July 2007, has a back problem and will miss their crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Finland and Armenia on November 17 and 21

LISBON (AFP) - Portugal's veteran defender Ricardo Carvalho has a back problem and will miss their crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Finland and Armenia on November 17 and 21, the national team doctor said on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Chelsea star injured his spinal column in the weekend's 1-1 Premier League draw against Everton, doctor Henrique Jones told the Portuguese press.

Carvalho - capped 39 times and a member of the Portugal sides that reached both the Euro 2004 final and 2006 World Cup semi-finals - is expected to be out of action for several weeks.

Portugal are in a four way fight for the two qualifying positions in Group A - presently they lie second just a point behind leaders Poland, but just three points ahead of both Serbia and Finland.

Chelsea defender Carvalho out for two months

Written by: AFP

Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho, seen here in 2006, has been ruled out of action for up to eight weeks after suffering a spinal column injury during last weekend´s 1-1 draw with Everton.
LONDON (AFP) - Chelsea's Portuguese central defender Ricardo Carvalho has been ruled out of action for up to eight weeks after suffering a spinal column injury during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Everton.

Portugal national team doctor Henrique Jones examined the injury and instantly ruled him out of their Euro 2008 qualifiers with Armenia and Finland.

"Ricardo has suffered fractures of the small bones on his second, third and fourth vertebrae and will be out for eight weeks," he said.

The news will come as a major blow to Blues boss Avram Grant, who already has Petr Cech, John Terry and Paulo Ferreira sidelined.

Carvalho, capped 39 times, is a member of the Portugal sides that reached both the Euro 2004 final and 2006 World Cup semi-finals.

Portugal are in a four way fight for the two qualifying positions in Group A - presently they lie second just a point behind leaders Poland, but just three points ahead of both Serbia and Finland.

Chelsea's Carvalho out for 8 weeks

Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho has been ruled out for two months.

Carvalho broke small bones in his back after falling awkwardly during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Everton.

Carvalho, 29, is banned from any physical exercise for a month and will then begin rehabilitation. He has returned to Portugal and has been examined by the national team's medical staff.

Portuguese doctor Henrique Jones said: "Ricardo has suffered fractures of the small bones on his second, third and fourth vertebrae and will be out for eight weeks."

Carvalho apologises for horror tackle

Written by: AFP

Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho, seen here in 2005, has apologised to Aston Villa´s Gabriel Agbonlahor for the horror tackle that marred the sides´ dramatic 4-4 draw.

LONDON (AFP) - Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho has apologised to Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor for the horror tackle that marred the sides' dramatic 4-4 draw.

Carvalho was sent off for the two-footed lunge in the 80th minute at Stamford Bridge and took the unusual step of putting out a statement after Wednesday's match to say sorry.

"It was never my intention to hurt Gabriel Agbonlahor with the tackle," Carvalho said. "I was going for the ball and I don't want people to think that I tried to hurt another player.

"I didn't see him after the game to apologise but I asked for a message to be passed on to him."

Carvalho's Chelsea team-mate Ashley Cole was also sent off for handball, but the Blues have launched an appeal because the England left-back insists he headed the ball off the line.

The English FA confirmed Chelsea's appeal, which will be heard on Friday December 28.

"The FA has received a claim for wrongful dismissal from Chelsea's Ashley Cole," the statement read.

"Cole was shown a red card for the denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity during Chelsea's game against Aston Villa on Wednesday, December 26."
