Mexico finished their series with Belize on Saturday, setting up an intriguing Group 2 in the next stage of North, Central American and Caribbean qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. El Tri join Jamaica, Honduras and Canada - who beat St. Vincent on Friday - in what has the makings of an all-action section.

Costa Rica and Guatemala also booked passage to the group stage after beating Grenada and St. Lucia respectively.

The heavily fancied Mexicans put an end to Belize's brave fight, winning 7-0 in Monterrey to bring the two-game series to a close with an emphatic 9-0 aggregate scoreline. Fernando Arce grabbed a pair of goals and Carlos Vela, Andres Guardado, Jared Borgetti (2) all scored and Tervor Lennen bundled in a late own goal as Belize, much improved in spite of the result, tumble out.
