The former CAF African Footballer of the Year suffered a series of injuries that kept him sidelined for much of his brief stay at the KC Stadium. Okocha could now retire but Hull manager Phil Brown saluted his contribution to the club's successful play-off campaign, which secured them a place in the English top flight for the first time in their history.
