Why is this site dead ???????

"admin" I couldn't help but notice how dead this site is , you should really consider portista's offer of being admin , seriously he can help out , it's not that there is nothing nothing to madoerate , the forum looks cluttered and you could need some help , he will also post a lot of you give him the admin spot , and will probably get his forum buddies aswell , believe me mate , either do that or close the forum for good unless you're winning money off of it.......

I mean this site has got like 970 members so you've basically already done the hard job which is to make a name for the forum and it's obviously the first thing that comes up when you write "soccer forum" on google , it would be a shame to see this site go down like this......

I realized from the other threads that you had a problem with the previous moderators and so you had no option but to ban them and you're obviously now facing a dead end wall , you don't know what to do , what I think you should do is look for someone to be an admin for the site , doing the posting and atracting others to post , if you did that half of your problems would be solved , atleast the site would look a little alive and you'll basically have a forum on your hands again ......

I wish you the best of luck in your search , hope this site comes back to life because as I said before , it would be a shame to see 970 members go down the drain....

You made some good points but I feel we should wait and see how active Portista7 really is over the next few weeks and we'll take it from there..

thank you for the support 7enkish

and ralph (admin), I understand and I'm committed to this site, but if the site were to stay completely dead for weeks and weeks and I had no abillity to try and change things, then I dont know if I would get bored, I'm sure you understand that.

There are a few people I could bring, yes. Not from staff there, but others, yes.

I showed one friend a link but he refused because of 2 reason 1.) it looked dead, and 2.) he though that you (ralph) were trying to be a little "overcontrolling," when he read you had to get rid of the staff. He hasn't been in that position before, so he doesn't understand fully, but he thought that you wanted to be the only one in charge and no-one else.

I completely understand that you wouldn't want to be at a dead site... nobody would...

My point is that the new admin/moderator will need to prove that they are truly "commited to this site" by posting often and bringing friends in, etc... You really can't expect me (or any other forum owner for that matter) to appoint someone as admin after knowing them for only a couple of days... The new admin will have to earn their status... I am especially reluctant to appoint anyone because of the problems I had with the previous administrator... It was not a pleasant situation by any means...

If you care to discuss this further please email me at support soccerforums com

Was a conclusion reached? It is a shame such a popular forum could just die a slow death

Their are currently no active moderators at the moment. Moderators will be seeked out when/if daily posting activity calls for it.

I think, Personally this site has the potential to be one of the best on the net, I know, I certainly enjoyed the experience when "dan" was the Admin, but I do believe family life got in the way of running the site, I also the FreddyAdu was an amazing member.

Dan and FreddyAdu are the same person, it is called changing your screen name.

I am sure his family life is going fine.

I think the deadness of this site will depend on what happens over on BigSoccer. If Telmex screws up the site, if they even really bought it?

So their's a new owner of BigSoccer?

We're trying to build activity here but it hasn't been easy.

Question

Yes, TelMex has bought the Big* family of websites, including BigSoccer. They have been putting up ads in Spanish, which I personally find cute. But yesterday, they changed everyone's avatars and sigs to PepsiMundo. It was pretty annoying. Then everything changed back late in the day. So maybe TelMex will make changes that will annoy some, and maybe not. We'll see.

Thanks for the info... I would assume a big company like that wouldn't make any drastic changes... especially right at the start... I guess we'll see how they handle things and if they do step on the regular members toes I'll be here at SF waiting for them to make us their new hangout... :-)

Yeah, it gets lonely here... We need some members on here to post regularly and to tell their friends about this place so we can bring some life to the site...

So keep on posting and tell your friends to do the same!

Hya guys
I would suggest we talk about soccer with our feet on the ground- Are their any Tranmere Rovers fans on the forum? I would like to hear their views on one of the most under rated genuinly talented managers in English football-Ronnie Moore.
