Hughes proud of Fulham captaincy

Fulham defender Aaron Hughes was delighted to wear the captain's armband in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Derby.

"The Manager made the decision and I was honoured to take the responsibility, especially at a Club like this," he told fulhamfc.com. "It was a big responsibility but hopefully I did ok. We wanted to win first and foremost but we didn't play as well as we can in the first half.

Fulham captain Aaron Hughes:
"Everton are one of those teams, a bit like Blackburn, who have really come on strong in the last couple of seasons.

"If you want to get anything from them then you have to work hard for it.

"As the away team you have to be prepared for what is going to be thrown at you but you have to also go with mentality that you can win it."
