Want Soccer Cleats with Lots of Cushion

I play several times a week on a synthetic field. I've found that just about any type of boot works on the playing surface (indoor, full cleats or anything in between). What I want more than anything, though, is more cushioning. I'm starting to show my age and I figure shoes with lots of cushion will help with the aches and pains. I've generally fit both Adidas and Diadora well. Any recommendations?

Only two things I can think of is Scholls Gel Inserts or wearing more socks.

Oops, I forgot to mention that I do use inserts. I'm happy with the inserts (although if you really like a particular brand, be free to suggest one). Thanks.
