Most skilful player of all !!! ??

I am now approaching my 50th birthday so I feel comfortable in naming my favourite player .

Zinedine Zidane is without question the player with the most ability inmy humble opinion.

In my early years I loved watching George Best and Pele ... then my affections switched to Zico of Brasil/Brazil for many years UNTIl I saw Zidane !!!

I saw clips of Ferenc Puskás who had an amazing left foot but he looked so unfit and overweight that I didn't think he deserved .

May as well talk about football now that RALPH has deleted the babes forum

AS to the thread ...Rivaldo AGREED , the next two were ok ... Baggio and NEDVED ( although he he dives to much for my liking) .

As for Becham and Lampard and Schevchenko - you are having a laff - I hope !!

Ronaldo relies too much on SPEED in my opinion

I should add my current fave SKILFUL player is Messi ... he's great now just wait for a few more years !!

Also he doesn't rely solely on speed as Ronaldo does so he should have a longer career.

The most skillful now, Ronaldo in Man Utd. Of all time Maradona or Cruyff.

Beg to differ about United's Ronaldo !

let's see what he's like after a couple of heavy tackles have slowed him down - without his amazing turn of speed he would be nothing !

We should define skillful before answering this question.

In my opinion being skillful means being able to create and dictate the game, not just be able to handle the ball.

Therefore i will go with Zedane, not only he was good with the ball but he was also a strategic player. He was all about creating situations that led to a goal.

jeffbrowne74 do you really put shevchenko in the same category then all these great players. I don't think so. You gota be a consistent player to be a skillful one.
