City are just like Chelsea a few years back. Only difference is that Chelsea was already a top 6 team when Abramovic came, so they took lesser time to improve.
City will do well to finish 5th this season, top 4 might be a little too early this season. If they do manage it, it will be a fantastic season and acheievement despite all the money spent. |

Man City were really a mid table team at best. The ground they have to make up is huge. Players are a little skeptical to join because of City's mid table history. It takes time for a team to gel and City's management will have a problem telling the difference between a player that truly wants to play for City or is only going there to become an instant millionaire. Do these players really have the drive to roll their sleeves up when City fall behind. Do they have the hunger?
There are very few City youth products in their line up. That is why the spirit of the club comes from like Terry with Chelsea. He is a great player and Chelsea through and through. City need to develop a true team spirit to break into the top 6. |

man city, a good club becoming a great club. never been a fan of theirs, but big money spending attracts players and fans. no doubt, they will be a big club in the near future. i prefer developing players more than huge transfers, but can't hate the players they are getting. gonna be a dangerous team.

In the future, Man City will become a Chelsea. They will change managers and continue to upgrade their players. In essence there will probably be a big 5 from now on...... Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal. The rest make up the numbers or are only good enough to gate crash the top 5 for a season or so . They won't have the consistency nor the money top remain there.
Man Utd without Ronaldo should be interesting. They will win it because Liverpool haven't strung 2 competitive seasons together since I was a teenager. Chelsea is the real dark horse. Can their Italian manager cut the mustard? Arsenal are rebuilding and won't figure. Man City would have to gel quickly and be defensively consistent, far more than last season to figure in the title race or the top 5. |

If you look at it, any team with the cash will spend it. -
so if they can buy the top players in the world they will my prediction is man city will finish in the top 4 this season and perhaps next season will be top 2.. |

Manchester City are not buying anything. Many teams who have bought top players have lost out, Eg= Real Madrid of the early-mid 2000's. If anything, I think Manchester City have bought smart and will become a team to watch. Chelsea went out and bought the most boring players in the world whereas Manchester City have bought players such as Robinho, Tevez, Adebayor, Santa Cruz hell even Bellamy. I applaud them for their decision to be more of an attacking side than a typical boring English side.

Man City can buy all the players in the world and they still won't win anything. The thinking in the club is wrong. And what do they do when they stumble upon a bad string; they sack Hughes. The man who bought all these players, the man with a vision.
And the italian pretty boy is probably the second biggest mistake. And what will happen when richies get tired of playing real-life football manager? Championship, League 1? |
