BERLIN (AFP) - Werder Bremen have responded to the news they may lose director of sport Klaus Allofs to Bayern Munich by tabling a better offer, it was reported on Thursday.
The 51-year-old, who won 56 caps for West Germany, has been Bremen's general manager since 1999 and the club's board are set to offer Allofs a contract extension after he was reported to be set to replace Uli Hoeness at Bayern as club manager.
But with his contract set to run until 2009, Allofs admits he is in no rush to sign a new deal, according to a report in German tabloid Bild.
