Xie Hui to transfer to Wehen Wiesbaden

The Chinese international player Xie Hui is set to become a player for SV Wehen Wiesbaden starting January 1, 2008.

His current club, Shanghai Shenhua FC, and SV Wehen Wiesbaden have already agreed on a transfer deal.

Xie Hui has entered into a contract valid for the Bundesliga und 2. Bundesliga through June 30, 2009.

Details still to be sorted out

The transfer will be officially consummated once Hui receives a physical examination and remaining formalities are taken care of. All stipulations will be fulfilled before the end of the year.

Xie Hui is a relatively unknown commodity in Germany. In January 2000, he transferred for the first time from the Chinese leagues to the 2. Bundesliga, first to Alemannia Aachen and later to SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

The 1.80-metre tall Hui scored 20 goals in his 58 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. Uwe Stöver, managing director of sport for SV Wehen Wiesbaden, expects Hui's previous experience will help ensure a smooth integration with the new club. "Xie Hui's experience and abilities will help us immediately. He will bring more options and dynamism to the offence."

In December, Hui completed a four-day trial training period at SV Wehen Wiesbaden, and coaches liked what they saw. Christian Hock expects his new striker to begin training on January 2, 2008.
