New Fan Looking for a Home

Hi, thanks for allowing me to join your forum. Over the past year, with the World Cup last year and Euro going on right now; I've begun to develop a serious interest in football. At the same time, my dad has been doing genealogical research about our family history; and he's found the village in southern Germany where my great grandfather emigrated from. I've been a huge Germanophile my whole life; listening to all the stories my Grandma told me, and now I want to tie in my new love of soccer.

So, keeping with my roots, I'm looking for a team which has a presence in the Waldshut-Tiengen region of Germany. I'm thinking that it would be SC Freiburg, but I'm not sure.

...I guess I could just go buy a Bayern-München jersey like all the other Bundesliga fans I know... but I am not a band wagoner

Before I read all the way down on your post, I almost replied and said why don't you just get a Bayern Munich jersey? Of course they're my favorite team, and I think I might just be a band wagoner because my favorite English team is ManU. I might as well love the Yankees and the Lakers too!!

Well now I'm never rooting for FC Bayern Muenchen; as I am a die-hard Reds fan!

Haha, anyway, thanks for the reply. I think I'll just go read up on the clubs and see which one I like best.
