Derby manager Paul Jewell has virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from for his first home game in charge.

But Jewell is again without Andy Todd (back) and Marc Edworthy (calf).

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate will make a late decision on keeper Mark Schwarzer, who has missed the last two games with a broken thumb.

Midfielder Julian Arca could start after playing 10 minutes last week, but Boro are still without striker Mido, who has a groin injury.

"I want to build for the future and he has the potential to be a top player.

"I enjoy working with him and if we can teach him certain things - the do's and dont's - he has a good future, and hopefully that will be with Derby."

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate on Stuart Downing:
"We know how effective he can be but I still maintain he sometimes doesn't realise how good he can be.

"But he has got four goals now, and I think he only scored two last season. We set him a target this year, which he is not close to yet.

"But we feel wide players should be chipping in with their share of goals, and four already is a decent return."

Paul Jewel makes his home debut as Derby manager and is looking for his first points in the position, and an end to the clubs' run of six successive Premier League losses.

Having been sucked into the relegation zone for the first time under Gareth Southgate, Middlesbrough immediately clawed their way out with a morale boosting, if unexpected, 2-1 home win over Arsenal last Sunday. Now they will want to increase the one point cushion between themselves and the danger line.

Derby avoided an unwanted record last Saturday of becoming the first club to fail to score in the first nine away matches of a top-flight season by notching a late consolation at Manchester United, but they still own the bluntest attack and the weakest defence in the highest league.

Middlesbrough have won 50 of their Premier League clashes with Derby (five of 10), and there was rarely a shortage of goals in those matches.

Chris RIGGOTT will be facing the club where he started his career. The 27 year old defender made 100 appearances (91 in the league) and scored seven goals (five league) for Derby before his move to the Riverside in January 2003.

Middlesbrough have put six, five and four goals past Derby in previous Premier League meetings; Derby once managed four and on the last but one clash at Pride Park six goals were shared.
