Alan Smith close to leaving to Middlesbrough

Alan Smith perto do Middlesbrough

2007-07-25

Yakubu agent: No Birmingham offer

Yakubu agent: No Birmingham offer
tribalfooball.com - July 28, 2007

The agent of Middlesbrough striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has cooled talk of a move to Birmingham City. Barry Silkman said: "Birmingham have never made an offer for Yakubu. I would think he would be way beyond their price range.
"I am not saying he would not go to Birmingham but they have not made an offer and even if they were going to, £10million is not going to buy him.
"Middlesbrough have already had offers of £10m and £10.5m and turned them down."

Columbus Crew star Szetela hopes for second Everton chance

Columbus Crew star Szetela hopes for second Everton chance
tribalfooball.com - July 27, 2007

Columbus Crew midfielder Danny Szetela would love a move to Everton. The USA Under-20 international rejected a move to Goodison Park as a 16-year-old.
Agent Shep Messing told BBC Sport: "Everton are probably his preferred destination, while Middlesbrough and Reading are also interested.
"But there's more interest from Serie A and we're closer to doing something in Italy, possibly in the next two weeks."
Lazio, Parma, Roma and Siena have all been in touch about a player who would be available for a small compensation fee of about £25,000 as his contract ends in December.

Cardiff welcome Middlesbrough keeper Turnbull

Cardiff welcome Middlesbrough keeper Turnbull
tribalfooball.com - July 28, 2007

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has admitted his delight after the Bluebirds landed Middlesbrough goalkeeper Ross Turnbull on a 12-month loan. The 22-year-old, who follows Robbie Fowler into Ninian Park, will join up with the Bluebirds' squad on Monday.
Ridsdale told the club's official website: "We have been tracking Ross all summer and we are really pleased to have secured his services for the season.
"Ross is known to be one of the bright young keepers coming through and we are glad that our patience has paid off. The signing of another keeper will really give us genuine competition in all positions and that is what we set out to achieve during the summer."
