Even teams here. Newcastle could be better but not in London. 1-1 draw.

Claudio Cacapa (hamstring) could return for Newcastle, but Stephen Carr (hamstring) and Peter Ramage (knee) remain on the sidelines.

Fulham manager Lawrie Sanchez:
"We need more leaders on the field, because we have a lot of international captains in the squad.

"We have a very young team, and most of the players are new to each other. They're a bit worried about upsetting their team-mates by pointing and shouting, but you do need that sometimes.

"Off the field for me, maybe I need to change the tactics slightly by bringing on people who can close the game off rather than offensive players."

Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce on the need to strengthen his squad:
"Certainly at this moment in time, my squad coming to January is going to be depleted by four players going to the African Nations Cup.

"There is no room for me moving any players out of this football club.

"It is about, if anything, bringing some players in to bolster the squad, not just for the players who are missing for the African Nations, but hopefully, if it is there, to get us better to see us through this season."

Fulham enter this game on the back of two straight defeats, with one win in 14 Premier League outings, and just goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone.

Newcastle pay their first visit to London in the league this season, eager to capture successive Premier League victories, and regain a place in the top half of the table.

The Magpies gained a first win in seven, against Birmingham last time out, while the Cottagers were suffering another second-half collapse and their biggest defeat of the season (3-0, away to Everton).

Fulham achieved their only league double of last season against Newcastle. It was the first time they had beaten the Magpies home and away in the same league campaign in their history. The Cottagers are now vying for a fourth successive Premier League maximum against them.

Aaron HUGHES will be facing the club where he started his professional career. The 28 year old Northern Ireland international made 278 appearances (205 in the league) and scored six goals (four league) for Newcastle before his 1.5m move to Aston Villa in May 2005.
