Newcastle agree to sell Emre

Newcastle agreed to sell Turkey midfielder Emre to Fenerbahce on Sunday. Kevin Keegan's club gave the Turkish team permission to speak with Emre to discuss personal terms and the deal should be completed this week.

Former Galatasaray and Inter Milan star Emre struggled to hold down a regular first-team place after moving to Newcastle in July 2005.

A statement on Newcastle's website said: "Newcastle United can confirm they have agreed terms with Fenerbahce for the transfer of Emre."
