Bournemouth continue Reading talks for Karacan

Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond admits they're still talking to Reading about extending the loan of midfielder Jem Karacan.

"As it stands Jem's loan period has expired and we're working on extending that," Bond told the club's official website.

"We're talking to Reading about the possibility of doing something before the weekend. They've sent him out to get some match practice and I would hope nothing has changed.

"There's always the possibility other clubs might be interested. We had that with a few players who did well here last season, but I suppose I'd much prefer that situation than taking a loan player who doesn't do very well."

Bournemouth hang onto Reading's Karacan

Reading midfielder Jem Karacan will remain on loan with Bournemouth until January 6.

The Turkish youngster has impressed in his first month at Dean Court, scoring twice in seven matches for the relegation-threatened Cherries.

Manager Kevin Bond told the club's official website when initially signing the 18-year-old: "I've seen him play three or four times. He's a little workaholic in the middle of the park.

"He enjoys grafting and closing people down and he's a useful type of player. He's the sort of player we need right now and gives us one or two more options."
