Is he still a rookie this year since this is probably his first year playing in the first Liga.
Nope he is no longer a rookie.

Durante o vídeo, que faz a apologia do futebol-espectáculo, ouviram-se comentários como "esse cara joga muito" ou simplesmente "Fábio Coentrão é espectacular" ou ainda "deixou os dois zagueiros [defesa-centrais] na saudade". Enfim, Coentrão deu mesmo um verdadeiro recital de futebol/espectáculo.

He did well last year with Rio Ave, almost brought them up to B-Win Liga...
He'll be a great player with SLB, but he needs to learn how to stay on his two feet. Falls way to easily and it cost him at the World Cup(U20).

The reason being that we already have sufficient midfielders. I think we are the side with the most depth in the entire Liga, but hopefully he will continue his development with us.
True but the only ones in my opinon we should keep are Simao,Fernandes,Coentrao,Souza,Assis,Kat.The rest should go.

Thursday training report
Mantorras was the key man in today's training session as he bagged a hat-trick for the senior side and won 4-1. The other goal came from Yu Dabao, whilst the junior side attempt was scored by André Soares, who actually took the lead first.
Fábio Contreão participated in the second half but under medical supervision. The first XI who played against Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine were given only fitness workout.
Benfica return to Seixal on Friday morning at 10:30 GMT, and receive Académica for the Portuguese Cup Fourth Round on Sunday at 20:45 GMT. The game will be shown live on Portuguese channel 3 SIC.
Fábio Coentrão to be loaned out
Fábio Coentrão is assumed to be loaned to Nacional da Madeira when the winter transfer window opens in January. The 19 year old has only played 103 minutes in the Liga this season and is considered a surplus at the moment. This move could gain the player more experience and competitive rhythm.
José Camacho has made it previously known that he would like to work with a shorter squad, and Rui Alves, president of the Funchal club, assisted the Benfica x AC Milan match on 28th November alongside L.F. Vieira to get the player in a six month deal.
The left-winger was acquired by Benfica from Rio Ave due to Fernando Santos' interest. Coentrão was a sensation in the Liga da Honra in the previous season and also played in the u-20 World Cup with Portugal.
Romeu Ribeiro, Miguel Vítor and Yu Dabao are also set to be loaned out, and all to Desportivo das Aves in the division below. Marc Zoro and Andrés Diáz are also to be considered to move either permanently or temporarily in January.
